What makes scrubby better than other body scrubs?
scrubby uses three different physical (not chemical) exfoliants; each exfoliant has a different grain size which means more thorough exfoliation of dead skin cells. scrubby contains ONLY ingredients carefully chosen for their therapeutic benefit; no filler ingredients or any substances that are harmful to humans, animals or the planet. Unlike most commercial body-scrubs, scrubby contains no oils to clog pores. While some oils have great benefits for skin, including oil in a body scrub undoes the work of the exfoliants and actually causes the dead skin cells to stick to the top layer of skin. scrubby does its job by loosening dead skin instead of just smoothing the existing dead skin cells.

Can't I just make this myself?
You could, yes, but we have invested time and expense in choosing the highest quality ingredients and perfecting our product. To make scrubby yourself would require purchasing the individual ingredients at greater expense than it costs to purchase from scrubbyshop.com

Why is exfoliation important?
Exfoliation is the removal of dead skin cells that cling to the skin's surface. It leaves the skin smoother and more radiant. It also improves circulation and penetration of products like lotion. The skin is constantly generating new skin cells at the lower layer (the dermis) and sending them to the surface (the epidermis). Gradually, these cells die and become filled with keratin. These keratinized skin cells give our skin a protective quality but are constantly sloughing off to make way for new cells. As we age, cell turnover slows down. Cells start to accumulate unevenly on the skin's surface, giving it a rough and dull appearance. Exfoliation is beneficial because it removes the dead cells to reveal fresh, healthy skin. Using a body scrub every day may cause over-exfoliation. Overexfoliating can dry and irritate the skin.
